We focus on providing you three levels of service for Web sites and
applications. Because we have affiliations with many other consultants and consulting
organizations, we can offer a wider scope of service if you need it.Usability
assessments
This is not a usability test, but a service in which we spend a week or less studying your site, your traffic logs, and your competition. We learn from you what you want your visitors to do on the site, and then we assess whether they are likely to be able to do that. During the course of the study we usually uncover multiple problems, such as:
-
The site can't be found in the search
engines.
-
Visitors can't find what they need.
-
Visitors get lost on the site.
-
Pages load too slowly--visitors leave.
-
Pages have too much to read.
-
Writing is not optimized for the Web.
-
Pages don't have enough content.
-
Forms don't work.
-
Site won't work correctly for visitors
who are not in the United States
At the end of the study you receive a detailed written
report,
averaging about 30 pages long.
Usability testing
Usability testing is not just giving people a Web site or application and asking them what they think of it. Nor is it just asking them to try it out.
Usability testing involves creating several realistic scenarios--real life tasks, and asking people similar to your real-life target visitors to accomplish the tasks. You set measurable objectives for the amount of time the task will take. Then you quietly watch and listen to them, recording were they have trouble, their comments, and how long it took.
Usable Webs can conduct usability tests on your Web site. We will scale the tests (number of scenarios and number of people tested) to fit your budget. Just give us a call.
Usability review
A usability review is a low cost, quick hit, review of your site. One usability expert
sits down and spends about an hour on your site, after a phone call in which we
determine your goals for the site.
Then we will talk, usually by phone, to share our findings with you.
