- Wrote a number of user manuals for inhouse applications on a variety
of subjects, including capital budgeting.
- Premera Blue Cross
- Wrote two user manuals/training manuals to support their disaster
recovery program and its software.
- Sigma-Aldrich-Fluka
- Created quick reference guide to fit inside a CD case holding their
MSDS software.
Online help
- The Cat's Pajamas
- Converted 1700 pages of paper-based
documentation to online help. Maintain online help system.
- Apex Learning
- Wrote online help system for instructional designers in how to develop
course material for the Apex system. Help had to work across multiple
platforms, browsers, and operating systems.

- Analyzed their website and
proposed changes and improvements.

- Conducted two studies, one on how to apply accessibility requirements

platforms, and one on which online help tool to use to fit into their
products, platforms, and processes.

and wrote white paper on using 360 degree evaluations.

- Researched and wrote report on the best approach they could take to
moving content online and the tools to use.

- Analyzed their website and proposed changes and improvements.
Editing and style guides

- Edited the work of other technical writers: user guides and online
help. Wrote and maintained style guide.

- Wrote style
guides for paper, online, and web deliverables for the use of consultants
on assignments.

- As a manager, I regularly edited the work of the writers reporting to
me. Developed, or helped them develop, style guides to ensure consistency.
Marketing and proposals
- Whittman-Hart
- As a manager, I wrote many proposals and developed accompanying
presentations. Customers included very large firms, such as Miller Brewing
and Johnson Controls.
System documentation

- Developed large intranet site that documented the user interface for a complex
application in all its versions as well as a document storage and
retrieval site for project documents. Also created flow diagrams,
specifications documents, installation instructions for the deployment
team, and other documents as required.
