Rock Climbing
Washington is full of both casual and hard-core rock and mountain climbers. In 10 minutes from where I live you can be climbing Mt. Erie, a 1200 foot "mountain" in the middle of Fidalgo Island. There are several ascents on the south side, some more challenging than others.
While you climb red tail hawks and eagles may soar near you. When you get to the top you have a fantastic view, including one of the only island on an island on the North American continent.
