Dining in the Anacortes Area
There are many restaurants in Anacortes, from McDonald's to great gourmet dining.
Listed here are my favorites:
Gourmet
| Bella Isola |
Excellent Italian food. In addition to the dining room, they have meals you can take out. |
| The Salmon Run |
Gourmet meals in the Majestic Inn, an old hotel, now B&B in downtown
Anacortes. Music on the weekends. |
| The Rhododendron Cafe |
Tiny and informal restaurant with innovative meals, often using local
seafood. |
| Chuckunut Manor |
Watch the sun set over the bay while eating excellent and original meals.
Local seafood a specialty. |
|
|
Casual
| The Flying Fish |
Great fried oysters from Chuckanut bay. |
| Gepetto's |
Mainly take-out Italian food. Wonderful panini and lasagnas. Lots of
people get food here to take on whale watching trips or picnics. |
| Gere-a-Deli |
Local hangout for lunch--people meet and talk here. Food is great
sandwiches, soups, etc. |
| Star Bar and Sole Luna Cafe |
Healthy food for breakfast or lunch. Organic ingredients, fruit and veggie
juices |
| Calico Cupboard |
Great breakfasts--choices from vegetarian to local seafood. Healthy stuff.
Great bakery. |
| Storks at the bowling alley |
Big and basic meals. Best breakfast in town. Eat to the clanking of
falling pins. |
| Island Grill |
On Whidbey Island, just over Deception Pass, is a good restaurant.
Excellent Cobb salad, says Virginia. |
| Anacortes also has other seafood restaurants, a Japanese restaurant,
Chinese, several Mexican, pizza places, other Italian, and even one small place that says
it is German. I haven't tried a lot of these yet, so won't list them here by name till I
do. |
