A Different Slant of Light—The Book

The book, A Different Slant of Light, The Art and Life of Adelaide Hanscom Leeson, is 124 pages long and full of images of her work. Images are in sepia, full color, or black-and-white—whatever the original is. Images appear throughout the book, in relationship to the text. The book is 8.5 by 7 inches. It is published by Orange Trumpet Honeysuckle Press. ISBN: 0-9707380-1-3.

Only 100 copies of the book are in the first printing. Each is numbered and signed.

The book discusses several of the ways in which she broke new ground. She was:

• Probably the first woman to create and publish images of partially-nude men.
   

• Ahead of other art photographers in present partial frontal female nudes with recognizable faces.
